In 2009 Bob and Wendy Andersen's world was turned upside down when their son Dexter was diagnosed with Tuberous Sclerosis, Epilepsy and later Autism.
As time passed and they experienced life together as a family, there was a realization that there were not many inclusive events, environments or locations to enjoy. No safe places or experiences that truly included everyone and was a "Judgement Free Zone." Dexter's Dream was created to do just that: Provide ways for families to experience life together and create lasting memories. One specific place they noticed a challenge was at playgrounds. So many play areas are not actually inclusive and/or developmentally available for someone with physical challenges. Play areas that are called inclusive still continue to leave out so much of the population simply due to their design. Wendy had the opportunity to visit a Magical Bridge playground in California and saw what was possible.
Now, Dexter's Dream has partnered with Magical Bridge and Fry & Associates to create a "Truly Inclusive Playground" that anyone from 1-100+ will be able to utilize and enjoy together. Creating memories that will last a lifetime.
